Hello everyone. Today's blog is really special. Today, I would be sharing some of the shortcut keys and various browsing hacks that I use to save myself time and increase my productivity to have more free time.
Typing Shortcuts
Do you have to write a lot of assignments or emails or any work which requires typing? If yes, then these shortcut keys would be a saviour.
Ctrl + Back / Forward key - To navigate to the first alphabet or the last alphabet of a word
Ctrl + Backspace - To delete a word, when you are at the last of the word
Ctrl + Delete - To delete the word if you are at the first letter of the word
Ctrl + Home - To navigate to the beginning of a document
Ctrl + end - To navigate to the end of a document
Home - To navigate to the beginning of a sentence
End - To navigate to the end of a sentence
Ctrl + A - To select everything
Shift - To select text
Shift + Left/ Right arrows - To select a word
Shift + Home/ End - To select a sentence
Formatting shortcuts
Ctrl + B - To make selected text bold
Ctrl + I - To italicize the selected text
Ctrl + U - To underline the selected text
Ctrl + Shift + C - To copy format of a text, element, etc
Ctrl + Shift + V - To paste format of a text, element, etc
Ctrl + Shift + L - To create a bullet list
Ctrl + E - Centre Alignment
Ctrl + J - Justfied Alignment
Browsing shortcuts
Ctrl + Tab or Ctrl + shift + tab - navigation between tabs
Ctrl + Find - To find something in a web page, document, pdf
F11 - For entering full-screen mode. The full-screen mode is really helpful in various websites to read better, in Canva, Google web apps like Docs, Sheets, etc. Even you can use it in applications like OneNote
Ctrl + T - To open a new tab
Ctrl + W - To get rid of new tab especially the spam websites.
Creating folders for most used links – You can create folders in your browser for your internships or studies where you can add the most used links. This would save you a lot of time.
Browsing Tips
Paid websites with limited free reads - You can go to Incognito Mode and read those blogs for free easily.
YouTube - You can find transcripts of the videos you are playing in the more options
Immersive Reader - Do you find it difficult to read news or blogs with so many advertisements, poor formatting. You can add immersive reader extensions through Chrome Store. In Microsoft Edge, it is pre-installed.
Productive Browsing - Do you want to make your browsing more productive, download Momentum Extension in your browser.
Grammarly - If you are bad at writing at making a lot of errors you can use the Grammarly extension to help you in editing
Touchpad Gestures
Two-finger swipe up/down/left/right - You can swipe two fingers in any direction to make it easy to scroll pages, documents, pdf, etc
Pinching in/out - You can pinch in out with two fingers to zoom in or out
3 Fingers Swipe left/ Right - To navigate between different applications in your windows PC

Alt + Tab - Switching between various opened windows
Ctrl + L - Lock screen
Alt + F4 - To close all running applications
Windows + M - To minimize all the running applications instantly
Windows + Print Screen - To take a screenshot
