Steal Like An Artist by Austin Kleon - Notes

Hello everyone, today I am starting a new series of blogs where I would be sharing a few quotes from books and would explain them. The main purpose is to give you an idea about the book and also summarize the book in the best possible manner and also you can refer to this blog if you have read these books to revise. I have seen that a lot of us want to do be a perfectionist and do innovative stuff but the problem is that would not result in a product most times or the quality won't be that good. But, if you keep practicing and put in the ideas from other artists in your work, the end result would be much better There isn't a move that's a new move. This quote has been said by Kobe Bryant. He says that he has tried to copy the moves of ...

The Power of Compounding

Hello everyone, today I want to talk about the Magic of Compounding. I was introduced to this concept when I read the Atomic Habits. Compounding basically means that a small change done over a regular period of time would result in huge changes. Now, you would ask how, so do a simple maths, Let's say you improve every day by 1% for 365 days in a year. Then you improve by 36 Times (Approx.) Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world, He who understands it earns it. He who doesn't pay it. Now, let us start with a few examples. 1. Warren Buffet Warren Buffet started investing at the age of 10 and has been invest for more than 75 years. Now, the real reason for his success is the compounding effect. He has spent on 400-500 investments so far in his life but most of his revenue has come from the max of 5 investments. Now, some people would say that it was his luck. Now, again even though it was luck but the odds of luck are more when you do more. Warren Buffet is an...

Things I learnt from Mad Over Marketing recently

Hello everyone, in this podcast, I would be talking about about two things which I came to know recently through Mad Over Marketing Podcast. Lamborghini V/S Ferrari Recently, I watched a podcast from Mad Over Marketing on this topic and I felt like writing about this. Today, Lamborghini and Ferrari are synonymous with luxury cars and are competing with each other for decades. And this leads to a question of how this rivalry began? Let us go back in time to World War 2 period, around that time, a man called Ferruccio Lamborghini, born in a farmers family had a passion for mechanics and spent a lot of time in his father's garage. During the war, he worked as a mechanic for the Air Force. After the war was over, he started buying the old military machines and started making tractors by repurposing them. After a few years, he became rich and now as he became rich he started building a collection of luxury cars including a Ferrari. He was so much into cars that he even started rac...

Staying positive, consistent and productive in the lockdown

Hello everyone, today I want to talk about how to stay positive, consistent and productive during these circumstances while being at home. 1. Waking up early and sleeping on time I have realized recently that due to my inconsistent lifestyle for the past couple of months, I was not consistent and my productivity was in decline. So, I am working on waking up early for the past couple of days and honestly speaking it is a bit difficult at the beginning but later on you would enjoy waking up early. When we wake up early we have more time on our hand which we can devote to ourselves by doing some workout, meditating, reading book or writing or doing any stuff which we like. If we wake up late then we rush things and then our whole day is hampered.               2. Pursuing some hobbies Pursuing hobbies that interest us and makes us happy helps to stay positive and reduce our stress and also to clear our heads ...

How to build Reading Habit?

Pick the right book at the right time. The main reason why people hate reading books is that they chose the wrong books at the wrong time. The thing is that maybe when you bought a book or selected a book you were not in a state to read that particular genre or that particular thing. It happens with everyone. There are lots of books which I have not completed after starting them. Instead of giving up after that one incident of finding a book boring or uninteresting, find something which you are interested in and read that.   How to pick the right book? Picking the right book is not an easy job and it really depends on your current situation, your interests and your passions. I follow these methods while picking a book. Firstly, I read something which would answer my question which had been bothering me for a long time. I would read a book that would help me solve my problems and become a better person. Secondly, I would read something which is in harmony with my ...
